Where Does Money Come From?
01.The Labor Loop
Money doesn't grow on trees, and it doesn't just shoot out of ATMs for free! To get money, people work jobs. Grown-ups use their skills—like building houses, teaching kids, coding apps, or curing sick people—and in exchange, they receive a paycheck. This is called earning money.
02.Earning vs. Receiving
You might get money as a gift for your birthday or an allowance for doing chores. While gifts are wonderful, earning money is how adults support their families. When you work, you trade your time and energy for money. The more helpful or specialized your skills are, the more people are willing to pay for your work!
03.Creating Value
Think about starting a lemonade stand. You buy lemons and sugar, mix them up, and sell cups to thirsty neighbors. You get paid because you created value for them—you solved their problem of being thirsty on a hot day! That is the core of earning money.
