What is Money?
01.From Trading Cows to Shiny Coins
Long long ago, before cash or credit cards existed, people traded things! If you had a cow and wanted some wheat, you had to find someone with wheat who also wanted a cow. This was called bartering. But what if the wheat merchant didn't want a cow? That was a big problem! To make trading easier, people invented money—a single thing that everyone agreed had value. They used shells, salt, and eventually gold coins!
02.Money is a Tool
Today, money isn't just paper and metal. It's a tool that helps us get the things we need (like food, clothes, and a house) and the things we want (like toys, video games, and trips to the theme park). Money makes the world go 'round because it lets us exchange our work for things other people make.
03.The Superpower of Value
Money works because of trust. A five-dollar bill is just a piece of paper, but we all trust that it's worth five dollars of goods. The government guarantees it, and everyone agrees to use it. This makes it a super-helper in our daily lives!
