Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) provides coverage for inpatient hospital stays and other services Inpatient care is covered for up to 90 days for each benefit period Inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility is covered up to a maximum of 100 days in a benefit period Some healthcare services provided in the patient’s home are covered Hospice care is available for beneficiaries with a terminal illness Blood transfusions are covered during a covered stay in a hospital or skilled nursing facility
