01.Core Concepts

• Additional Medicare tax equal to 0.9 percent of wages during any taxable year beginning after December 31, 2012, and which are in excess of: • MFJ $250,000 • MFS $125,000 • Single $200,000 • This Medicare tax is paid by employees, not employers. • Applies to wages, compensation or self-employment income Note: Threshold amounts are not indexed for inflation.
