Avoiding Debt Pitfalls

01.Predatory Lenders

Be extremely cautious of payday loans, title loans, and rent-to-own agreements. These lenders target low-income individuals and immigrants, charging interest rates as high as 400% APR! They can lock you into a cycle of debt.

02.Co-signing Risks

If a friend or relative asks you to co-sign a loan because they don't qualify, remember: you are legally promising to pay the entire debt if they fail. Co-signing can damage your credit score and relationship if things go wrong.

03.Debt Avalanche vs. Snowball

If you carry debt, use structured methods to pay it off. The Avalanche method focuses on paying off the debt with the highest interest rate first (saving money). The Snowball method pays the smallest balance first (giving psychological wins).
