01.Immigration and Government Scams
Scammers frequently target new immigrants by pretending to be officers from USCIS, the IRS, or local police. They may threaten deportation or arrest unless you pay immediate fees via gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency. Note: US government agencies will NEVER call you demanding immediate payment or threatening arrest!
02.Job and Visa Scams
Be cautious of agencies charging upfront fees to guarantee a job, a visa sponsor, or a green card. Always verify immigration attorneys through the state bar association.
03.The Credit Verification Check
Never give your SSN, banking passwords, or verification codes to someone who calls you out of the blue. If in doubt, hang up and call the official customer service number listed on the bank's website.
